Buy America Steel Products Association is a non-profit association of American manufacturers and suppliers of steel and steel products that meet Buy America standards. Our members produce and supply top quality, American-made steel and steel products for use in highway and transportation sector construction projects in the USA.

BASPA serves as a resource for state DOT officials in charge of enforcing federal Buy America provisions by providing a directory of manufacturers and suppliers of steel and steel products that meet Buy America standards. BASPA member companies support maintaining full applicability of Buy America requirements to all steel and steel products used in highway and transportation construction projects in the USA.

    Under the original Buy America Program, all steel products used in highway and transportation sector projects funded with federal dollars had to be domestically manufactured. On December 21, 2012, the Federal Highway Administration issued a memorandum exempting certain steel products used in highway construction projects from Buy America requirements. This exemption covered many of the products made in America by BASPA members.
